Discover the Écomusée de Marquèze, in the Landes region of France

The Marquèze Ecomuseum is an interactive museum located in the Landes region of France. Its aim is to present rural life in the Landes region in the 19th century.

It is set on a former agricultural estate, comprising farm buildings, barns, stables, gardens and cultivated fields.

One-off visit

It’s the perfect place to discover the history and traditions of the Landes region.

The Marquèze Ecomuseum is divided into several sections, each presenting an activity or facet of rural life in the Landes region.

  • The trades section presents tools and machines used in various agricultural trades such as wheat growing, winemaking, cooperage, tannery and cutlery.
  • The Everyday Life section features everyday Landes items such as furniture, clothing, kitchen utensils and religious objects.
  • The flora and fauna section features animals and plants from the region.

The Marquèze Ecomuseum also offers activities for children, such as discovery workshops, themed tours, guided tours and entertainment. There are also temporary exhibitions on various subjects throughout the year.
